This spring I’ve been out photographing buds, between gatherings and commitments, just for the sake of noticing them. One of the guiding threads in a full and busy life has been the sense of rightness that comes from the shapes and forms of nature. “In Wildness,” Thoreau said, “is the preservation of the world.”
These are from the last few days — in front of my house, a walk on Armour Hill, and near the entrance to Jackson Park.
